Conscience: The Quiet Voice That Guides Us

  What Is Conscience? Conscience is like that little voice inside of us that reminds us what is right and what is wrong. Sometimes it’s really quiet, and we can almost ignore it, but in important moments, it feels loud and clear. It doesn’t always tell us the easiest thing to do. In fact, it often points us to the harder choice. But listening to our conscience is what helps us stay true to who we are. Study Case  I remember a time in school when my conscience really spoke to me. It happened during a math test. I was sitting there, stuck on a few hard questions, when my friend, who was cheating, leaned over and whispered if I wanted to copy her answers. For a moment, I froze. Thinking whether I should say Yes or No. The  temptation was real and it was there. I could have avoided the stress and gotten a higher score if I just looked over. OCD: More Than Just “Being Neat”

  You’ve probably heard someone say, “I’m so OCD about my notes” or “I need my room tidy, I’m OCD.” But here’s the thing, OCD isn’t just about being clean or organized, it’s a real mental health condition that can be really tough to live with. What OCD Actually Is OCD stands for Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder. It usually comes in two parts:  •   Obsessions:  unwanted thoughts or fears that just won’t leave you alone (like your brain being stuck on repeat). •  Compulsions:  things you feel like you have to do to quiet those thoughts (like checking the door 20 times before bed).
